Hostel Pantof

History of the house no. 42:

The house no. 42 has a rich history as do the other houses on the square. The house stands right next to the original trade route from the 12th -13th century. The origional house was made from wood, like most of the houses around. Following a fire in 1386, in which the house was burnt to the ground, it was rebuilt in stone. Further reconstruction was necessary after the next fire at 1530. The town hall was also destroyed in this fire, along with all the deed records. So, written records only exist from this day forward.

How to get us:

From Prague or Brno take the bus to Telc, (find connection on www.vlak-bus.cz) When you arrive at the bus station, walk to the back of it to a small, short path (there is a map there). Turn right onto TYRŚOVA st, and walk about 150m. You will meet the big road MASARYKOVA st. Turn left at this junction and walk for about 5 minutes, following the road around the bend. It takes you to the centre. From there, you will reach a small junction where a few streets meet (walk behinde/under the arch) onto PALACKEHO st. (church on the right side) to the main square - the hostel is at no. 42, oposite to the castle side.
